However, the side effects of eating beans has some in a love-hate relationship for this legume. Beans consumption results in gas production (farts) in some people, due to the poor digestion of raffinose, a carbohydrate found in beans. Some bean varieties have been said to have higher levels of raffinose and thus lead to more gas production.
